MPG Books Ltd
General Statement of Environmental Policy
We recognise that in our day-to-day operations we inevitably impact on the environment in a number of ways. We will strive to minimise any potentially harmful effects on the environment of such activity wherever and whenever possible.
MPG Books Limited will foster an understanding of environmental issues arising from its business activities, amongst its employees, suppliers, contractors and customers.
As part of our continuing drive for quality in all the things we do, we have developed an environmental management system to enable us to set objectives and targets for continual improvement by which our efforts towards sustainable environmental practices can be measured and monitored on a regular basis.
In particular MPG Books Limited will:-
(a) Review our policy annually and publish it on our Web site. We will actively promote open discussions with all interested parties in relation to environmental matters.
(b) Ensure our policy is consistent with our policies on quality and health and safety.
(c) Ensure all our employees understand and comply with the Company’s policies regarding environmental issues. MPG is continuously reviewing and training employees within these areas.
|
(d) Enforce a strict code of practice of correct hazardous waste disposal, using only competent, authorised contractors.
(e)
Use the best available techniques and best practicable environmental options for prevention of pollution and to minimise both consumption of resources such as energy and water and the use of materials which are harmful to the environment.
(f)
Strive to only purchase paper from either certified or controlled sources.
(g)
Meet the requirements of all relevant regulatory or legislative requirements and where practicable exceed these requirements.
